Going on summer vacation? Don’t forget to pack these shoe styles!

Choosing shoes for your everyday wardrobe at home is one thing, but deciding on which shoes to pack for your vacation is something else entirely. The checklist below will help you pack the right shoes for every possible occasion - and it might even inspire you to pick up a brand new pair or two depending on your preferences.

Sneakers

No matter where you’re headed on vacation, you’re probably going to want to see the sights - and that means you’ll need to do some walking. While you can walk short distances in virtually any shoe, it’s best to have a comfortable pair of sneakers for your on-foot touring. Look for sneakers that provide ample all-day support and look good while they’re doing it, such as these eco-friendly Bonaire sneakers in beautiful India Ink. The simple, classic design pairs well with any outfit, and they’re so comfortable it’s like walking on clouds.

Slippers or “House Shoes”

Even if you don’t wear slippers or house shoes much at home, you may want to consider it when you’re on vacation. They’re perfect for quick trips down the hotel hallway or around your Airbnb, and they’ll keep your feet nice and warm on those chilly nights. Ideally, you should pack a pair of slippers that you can even wear outside for a quick trip or errand. The Lynx slippers in Humus offer a classic clog shape and fit with a soft-as-air faux fur lining with a solid sole that’s comfortable enough to wear indoors, but safe enough to wear outdoors.

Pumps or Heels

You may not have any formal events planned for your vacation, but you just never know when you’ll want a pair of heels - or if heels aren’t your thing, some dressy pumps. There’s no need to be fancy with them; a simple pair with a modern design in a color like black or tan will suit virtually any outfit you can dream of. Besides, every woman should have a cute pair of black pumps in her wardrobe. Wear them with jeans for a dressed-up look or pair them with a summery dress for something a little dressier.

Flats

If you just don’t find heels or pumps comfortable, or if you know you’re going to be on your feet, it may make sense to skip the heels and instead go with a classic pair of flats. Look for a rounded toebox if you want a more modern shape, and ideally, look for pumps with an elasticized opening that will stretch just enough to keep the flat from sliding. If you’re keeping it simple, a pair of black flats is the perfect wardrobe staple. However, if you want to make a statement, the Ninette flats in Wheat, Red Ochre, or Mykonos Blue will provide a pop of color to complement virtually any look.

It’s almost time for summer vacation, and that means being just as prepared for a day relaxing on the balcony of your hotel room as you are for a formal dinner in an upscale restaurant. Packing these four pairs of shoes will ensure you’re ready for both - and everything in between, too.
